  • Review and recommend modifications to national and international petrographic standards.
  • Organise training programmes and specialist meetings to promote competency in petrographic investigation methods.
  • Maintain a list of practicing qualified professional petrographers.
  • Insure that the highest professional standards are maintained by petrographers.
